Looking for an all natural homemade hand sanitizer? I’ve got you covered!
Hey there! I’m so excited to share this diy hand sanitizer with y’all today. I have been using it for over a year and thought – um Kelley, you should post about this! This hand sanitizer is made with only 3 ingredients and is all natural, non-toxic and safe for kids! (Score!)
I have been using essential oils for over 2 years now. I have been reluctant to share them on the blog because when I started using them there was an influx of new members that blogged about them purely for profit. They had found out how to use essential oils to make money and were like bloodhounds. I stood back and used my oils in silence. I wasn’t then and I’m not now in it to make money.
I quickly became obsessed with eo’s (or essential oils) quickly after I started using them. I use them for so many things around the house now and have replaced many of our products with them. One of the first things I ditched was alcohol based hand sanitizer for this diy version.
This diy hand sanitizer uses thieves essential oil, water and salt. Its super easy to put together and so powerful! When I first started oils thieves was my favorite. It is based on the tale of the 3 thieves from the medieval time period who stole from victims of the bubonic plague. They covered themselves in oils so they would not catch the disease. The oils are now known as thieves! (How cool is all that?!)
In an amber bottle combine 1/8 teaspoon of salt with 10-15 drops of thieves essential oil. Fill it the rest of the way with distilled water and shake!
There ya go! You now have homemade hand sanitizer that is non-toxic, eco-friendly and safe for everyone in the family! I keep mine in my purse or diaper bag and use it often. Just give it a little shake before spraying to mix all the ingredients back together.
