Dont let those bottles fool you – I am not a big drinker.. Im just a craft supply hoarder. [Exhibit A]. When I see something that could maybe possibly one day be used in a craft project, I keep it. Forever. In this case Im glad I kept them. They were in the background of Avery’s pirate pig shoot and were simple to make.
I lightly sprayed tan [or almond] spray paint on the bottle to give it an aged affect. Make sure you give it enough time to dry. There may be some impatient finger prints on the neck of the bottle.
To make the message in a bottle I rolled up a piece of tan felt and burned the edges. I left the bottle itself alone because it has a cool anchor decal on the front. And we all know how I feel about anchors.
For this bottle I used puff paint to draw an anchor and then spray painted over it. [Oh hey, more anchors!] I got the idea from here. [Although Im not sure if thats the original source. Pin wisely!]
Take the anchor scarf one of my sweet friends sent me and you have upcycled home decor from empty bottles.
They are even pirate pig approved.
