Consistent #MyResolution

I love that there is a feeling of renewal at the beginning of the New Year.  I have big plans but I haven’t made a resolution.  This year I’m focusing on being more consistent in all aspects of my life, especially my diet and exercise.

The thing with resolutions is that they are meaningless unless you create a plan to achieve them.  I cant say I want to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes this year without some sort of action plan.  So Im saying – I want to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes this year by being more consistent in eating better and going to the gym.  The gym part seems to be easy, the diet part – not so much.  My idea of healthy and my portions are way off and I tend to reach for that cookie way too often.  When I was asked to try out Diet-to-Go meals I jumped at the opportunity.

Here’s my sales pitch first:  Diet-to-Go is the most inexpensive diet delivery service that ships fresh meals.  They have 3 unique meals – low fat, vegetarian and regular with 20 plans to choose from.

Ok, so what does that mean?  For me it showed me the portions I should eat and what a healthy meal should consist of.  It also showed me that you can eat tasty food that’s good for you and not be hungry in an hour.  Most importantly, it showed me how easy it is to eat healthy.

I enjoyed the meals [especially the ones with pasta] but unfortunately a diet delivery service is not something I can afford all the time.  Another downfall is that I ended up cooking two meals – one for my family and the Diet-to-Go meal for myself.  What I realized is that its a great spring board for living a healthy lifestyle.  Its like having someone tell you what to eat and when without the actual person.

Other things that I loved about Diet-to-Go was that each meal had nutritional value on the packaging.  I was able to customize my food as well.  I added shredded cheese to my turkey burger instead of the sauce.

I love the good aspects you took from this food program, the portion sizes and such. I think that’s something I struggle with constantly!

Hi Kelley :) I’ve always been interested in these kind of healthy eating (we cook your meal) plans. For me eating healthy means lots of planning and prep time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this plan, and the meals they offer. Wishing you lot’s of success with your resolution this year. Xo
