Its here, its here! No.. its not santa yet. Its the beginning of our 10 homemade Christmas gifts under $10 series! Im so excited to share some awesome thrifty gifties with yall! (I really am.. I keep annoying my husband and mom about how pumped I am.)
Today Im going to show you how to turn a glass baby food jar into a pincushion! Its super easy and even more adorable. Best part.. I had all the ‘ingredients’ on hand to make it!
Glass baby food jar (any size)
Cut a piece of fabric into a circle to cover the top. Make it big enough to overlap the top of the jar.
Stuff the baby food jar full of stuffing. Put so much stuffing in there that you dont think anymore will fit.. and then put a little bit more. Quickly cover the top with your fabric circle and secure with rubber bands. (I didnt take pictures of the first part because its not easy to fill the jar one handed. PS.. I used an old teddy bear for my stuffing. Aka free stuffing!)
Place hot glue underneath the fabric on the rim of the jar but make sure to keep the rubber bands on til it dries. Finally, wrap a piece of ribbon or rick rack around the mouth of the jar for added cuteness. Ta-da! A thoughtful gift that any sewer would love.
So.. what do you think? Something you would like to make or like to have? How about this one? Would you like to own it? Ok you can have it! Leave me a comment with an item from your personal Christmas list and Ill pick a winner Sunday. Good luck and see ya next week for another fabulous thrifty gifty idea!
