Passionfruit Ads Video Tutorial

blogtuts1

Im really excited to share this Passionfruit Ads video tutorial with yall today!  Passionfruit is an amazing service for us bloggers for so many reasons.. my favorite?  No more html coding!  Hello!  That alone is the bomb dot com.  [What?!  Did she just say that?]   I did just say it.. and its true.
Ok.. Im trying to be funny to distract from my bad grammar and my awkward sign off in the video.  Let me tell you.. I went through 3405345093 takes to get one that I didnt absolutely hate.  Im not going to lie.. its not the greatest video tutorial out there, but it shows you the features you need to use Passionfruit.  And hopefully my awesome personality shines through.
Seriously though, let me know if you have any questions.  I didnt talk about a few things like fees or anything that you can easily find on the website.. but Id be happy to help. I really apologize for my horrible sign off.. I was frustrated that I kept repeating myself.  Repeating myself.. repeating myself.  See?  Totally annoying.
Happy fruiting!  [fruiting.. fruiting..]

Prep for Spring [My Beauty Routine]

Im not going to lie.. I dont get do my hair and makeup everyday.  Most days I wear a ponytail and yoga pants because all I do is chase kids around the house.  Some days I dont even leave the house.  When I do go out, I want to look like I have it all together.  (No one has to know the truth.. right?)

Today Im going to share my super easy, super simple beauty routine.  It takes me 15 minutes to do my hair and makeup.  I use no heat curls at night to cut down on my prep time.  (Its hair magic.. seriously!)

This is me.  No makeup, hair in a headband.. straight outta bed.  By the way.. it is so awkward to take pictures of yourself.  So awkward.  And yes, I am wearing a ‘Everything is bigger in Texas’ t-shirt.

I keep my hair up while I apply my moisturizer, foundation, bronzer and mascara.  Thats all I ever use as far as makeup goes.  I may switch up the bronzer for blush if I want rosy instead of golden.  Today I used Maybelline Colossal Volume mascara,  Maybelline Instant Rewind Eraser Makeup, and Physicians Formula bronzer.  All can be purchased at your local Walgreens.

I take the headband off and put in some frizz spray to try and calm my hair.  I pinned the front pieces back and continue to take awkward photos of myself.  I do love how my curls look though.  Easy breezy.. my kinda style.

To make my look extra ‘Spring-y’ I put on a loveable headband and matching tank top.  And Im ready for my day.  This is how I prep for trips to the grocery store, dinner with the hubby or just to feel put together.  Its a very versatile routine.
Fifteen minutes, 4 makeup products, and one frizz spray later.  The makeup is light and minimal and my curls are bouncy and soft.  Perfect for Spring!
Whats your Spring beauty routine?  Any tips or tricks you’d like to share?

Bully [My Story + Apologies]

Thanks to The Bully Project for sponsoring my writing. Visit their website to join the movement and learn more.
I had an amazing childhood.  I have two brothers (one older and one younger) and by all means we were the “norm”.  I’ve never been to Disney but I have gone camping in and around most of the United States.  My grandma and my mom were (and still are) my best friends.  In school I was well known and ‘in’ with the popular kids.
I remember a boy made a rythm about me in third grade.  He would sing “Kelley’s belly is full of jelly” whenever I passed him in the hallway. I wasnt fat but I was a bigger girl.  I grew faster then most of the girls and was proud to be one of the tallest girls in my grade.  I needed braces; badly.

The chant never really bothered me until a few other boys joined in.  I started to feel more self conscience and awkward then I did before they chanted together.  My teachers told me it was because the boys liked me that they taunted me.  I knew that wasnt the case.
I should have known that the boy that made the song was insecure (he was slightly handicapped) and was lashing out, but I was a kid.  I had no idea that he might have been teased by someone else. I continued to ignore the boys chants and scurried to my classes as fast as I could.
Im not saying that Im a saint and was bullied to tears everyday, but I do know how it feels to be hurt my someones careless words.  That should have stopped me from being unkind to people, but I admit I picked on others.  And Im horribly sorry about it to this day.  I know the people I teased wont read this but I want to say Im sorry.
To my best friend in elementary school – Im sorry for using your secret against you.
To the boy in elementary school – Im sorry for calling your lunch box a purse and making fun of your glasses.
To the boy in middle school who changed my name from Kelley to ‘smelly’ – Im sorry for making fun of your name first.
To my little brother – Im sorry for singing that mean song to you.  A lot.

Being a mom has changed so much about me.  I dont want my daughter to have to be called names, or taunted because she looks difference or talks funny.  I am proud to support the anti-bully movement and hope that all the moms out there join me.
