I think I need to put another disclaimer that I really like Lean Cuisine meals to begin with.  I think that they are a great way to kick start a new diet or to help stick with an existing one.  I normally have one or two in the freezer in case I need a quick meal to eat.  I love that they are low calories but still very tasty.  I was excited to try the new Honestly Good meals because they use all natural and wholesome ingredients.  I made sure to grab a few when I was at Target.

Sometimes its hard to still to your diet though, like when you get sick.  Last week I got sick and I wasn’t able to eat so out went my diet plan.  I went almost a week with crackers and milkshakes because my stomach hurt so much.  Nothing sounded good to me because I was in so much pain after I ate.  I went to the ER [because I wasn’t able to get in and see my doctor], was given medicine and sent on my way.

I started to feel better a few days later and was actually excited to try the new Lean Cuisine meals.  I went from not being able to look at food to sheer giddiness over the new meals.  Why?  Because I know that Lean Cuisine makes great tasting, low calorie meals that are easy to prep.  My taste buds were back and they wanted a Lean Cuisine.  [And since we are being honest, once my taste buds came back I ate everything.  But these were high up on my list.]

I grabbed the Honey Citrus Chicken, Pomegranate Chicken, and the Pineapple Black Pepper Beef.  [They also carry Lemongrass Salmon, Plum Ginger Grain-Crusted Fish, and Roasted Red Pepper Chicken meals.]  I really liked how the meals had a nice portion of meal and veggies but also a side of carbs.  [Momma loves her carbs, yall.]  The Honey Citrus Chicken has a lemon flavored pasta, which went great with the chicken and the broccoli mix.  Another thing that I loved was that you poured your own sauce.  Some meals are covered in sauce or don’t have enough, but the Lean Cuisines allow you to put the amount you want.

Lean Cuisine Honestly Good meals

My chicken meal covered the whole plate and was only 320 calories.  I wasn’t able to eat the whole Honestly Good meal because there was so much food.  I liked the Pineapple Beef just as much and can’t wait to try the Pomegranate Chicken.  The new Lean Cuisines are exactly what my taste buds and my diet needed to keep going.

Consistent #MyResolution

I love that there is a feeling of renewal at the beginning of the New Year.  I have big plans but I haven’t made a resolution.  This year I’m focusing on being more consistent in all aspects of my life, especially my diet and exercise.

Consistent

The thing with resolutions is that they are meaningless unless you create a plan to achieve them.  I cant say I want to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes this year without some sort of action plan.  So Im saying – I want to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes this year by being more consistent in eating better and going to the gym.  The gym part seems to be easy, the diet part – not so much.  My idea of healthy and my portions are way off and I tend to reach for that cookie way too often.  When I was asked to try out Diet-to-Go meals I jumped at the opportunity.

Here’s my sales pitch first:  Diet-to-Go is the most inexpensive diet delivery service that ships fresh meals.  They have 3 unique meals – low fat, vegetarian and regular with 20 plans to choose from.

Ok, so what does that mean?  For me it showed me the portions I should eat and what a healthy meal should consist of.  It also showed me that you can eat tasty food that’s good for you and not be hungry in an hour.  Most importantly, it showed me how easy it is to eat healthy.

I enjoyed the meals [especially the ones with pasta] but unfortunately a diet delivery service is not something I can afford all the time.  Another downfall is that I ended up cooking two meals – one for my family and the Diet-to-Go meal for myself.  What I realized is that its a great spring board for living a healthy lifestyle.  Its like having someone tell you what to eat and when without the actual person.

Other things that I loved about Diet-to-Go was that each meal had nutritional value on the packaging.  I was able to customize my food as well.  I added shredded cheese to my turkey burger instead of the sauce.

Happy Thanksgiving from Channing Tatum!

channingtatum

Ha!  Not really.  I do enjoy drooling over Channing Tatum and I was excited he won PEOPLE‘s Sexiest Man Alive title.  Not to brag or anything but I totally guessed he would win.

I grabbed the PEOPLE issue from my local CVS.  I may or may bot have read it at red lights on the way home.

Yes, Channing is gorgeous and chiseled and every other word for hot but my favorite picture is this one of him and his wife Jenna.  A man that loves his wife is the most attractive thing to me.  [And not in a ‘want to steal him’ kinda way but in a ‘thats what marriage is intended for’ kinda way.]
I was able to enjoy the rest of the magazine while baking for Thanksgiving while the kids watched Charlie Brown.  I love the Star Tracks section of the magazine and all the celebrity photos.. especially the ones with babies!  Reese and I are besties because we use the same car seat.  Thank you PEOPLE for affirming that I am awesome at picking car seats.  [haha!]

I also love the real life articles in the PEOPLE.  This lasagna recipe?  Totally going on my menu for next week.  I mean if we run out of turkey.. because cold turkey is the absolute best.

Happy Thanksgiving yall!  From the Grants and Channing Tatum!

I love looking through all the gossip magazines at the check out of any store. I never buy them because, well – Im afraid of the looks people will give or the comments they will make. [Look at the mom buying a smut magazine.] My compromise? PEOPLE magazine.
Its nice to be able to relax for awhile and read PEOPLE. I love that I can get celebrity gossip and news articles in one place. Its the best of both worlds.

My favorite issue is the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ article that they put out every year. Its fun to look through all the beefy men and daydream like a high schooler. I cant wait to see who won this year! The ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ issue comes out November 15th. My bets are on Channing Tatum. Who do you think will win?
In honor of my favorite issue hitting newsstands soon I am giving away a $20 gift card to CVS! You can use it to buy your ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ issue! Or whatever you choose. Good luck!
